Food City stores in Johnson City, Jonesborough and Gray collected donations for Niswonger Children’s Hospital on Saturday, Aug. 21. Co-sponsored by WJHL News Channel 11 and ETSU’s Athletic Department, the event was festive with ETSU coaches, athletes, cheerleaders, dance team and Bucky the mascot helping bag groceries. Free Buccaneer football schedule posters were available. Scott Carter, former resident of Halls in Knox County, is ETSU director of athletics.

Food City Wine & Spirits opened Sept. 1 at 110 North 11th Street, Middlesboro, Kentucky. Inventory includes over 2,000 varieties of wine and spirits, including locally sourced items.

The School Bucks challenge is underway. Food City will donate $700,000 to area schools, divided based on participation by parents and supporters who sign up with their ValuCard.
