If you love live music, this is your summer! The Oak Ridge Civic Music Association (ORCMA) has packed the calendar with performances and youth programs that celebrate community, creativity, and the joy of coming together. You won’t want to miss a single note.

Mark your calendar for Saturday, June 6th at 7 p.m. at the Oak Ridge Performing Arts Center, when ORCMA’s Oak Ridge Chorus joins forces with Flatwater Tales for a one-of-a-kind concert experience, weaving storytelling and song into a heartfelt celebration of America’s 250th anniversary. This isn’t just a performance; it’s a journey through the stories and spirit that shaped a nation, brought to life through the magic of live music. Come ready to be moved.

Then the very next afternoon, Sunday, June 7th, at 3 p.m. at First United Methodist Church of Oak Ridge, grab your coffee and settle in for À la Carte Inspirations, a free quartet coffee concert served up like a delicious musical meal. From light and refreshing openers to rich main courses by Vivaldi and Schubert, plus a spicy side and a sweet finish, every selection is a treat. Local arrangers add the perfect homegrown flavor.

The fun continues all summer for young musicians. ORCMA’s Strings Camp closes out June, and Choir Camp takes center stage in mid-July. These camps are both hosted at Oak Ridge First Baptist Church, giving students in grades 3 through 12 the chance to discover their voice, build real skills, and make memories that last a lifetime.

For 82 years, ORCMA has been the heartbeat of East Tennessee’s arts community, and this summer is shaping up to be one for the books.

Great music is always better together, so grab your family, bring your friends, and visit www.orcma.org for tickets, camp registration, and everything Oak Ridge has in store for your summer soundtrack.  Guest post and photos by Joy Bonamarte of ORCMA.
