Services Wednesday for Robert M. ‘Robin’ Hill

A memorial service is scheduled for 4 p.m. Wednesday, July 17, at The Episcopal Church of the Good Samaritan, 425 N Cedar Bluff Rd. for Robert McCullough “Robin” Hill Jr. who passed away on July 10. A reception will follow.

A mechanical engineer by trade, Mr. Hill was well-known in Farragut and Knox County for his volunteer work, particularly in the areas of public planning and environmental causes. He worked from 1956-1994 at ORNL, starting as a design engineer and ending his career as a restoration project manager at Y-12.

He represented West Knox County on the Knox County Court/County Commission from 1970-80. He was appointed by Mayor Bob Leonard to the Farragut Municipal Planning Commission in 1982, serving until 2010 in this volunteer position. His civic interests ranged from the Sierra Club to WUOT radio and his church.

He is survived by daughters Anita F. Hill and Kathleen H. Drevik, and granddaughters Abigail E. Drevik and Mackenzie D. Treadway. Additional obituary information here.
