Busy week for Waterstone at Hardin Valley

Nick McBrideOur Town Leaders

Last week was relatively quiet in our office because most title companies were closed on July 4-5 to celebrate the holiday.

Though it was down a bit from the previous week, we still recorded a total of 237 property transfers totaling $68.53 million. Shady Glen LLC sold 80 lots in the Waterstone at Hardin Valley complex to Ball Homes LLC for $4.7 million. The second-largest recorded transfer was between The Southern Station of Tennessee LLC and Knoxville Southern Station LLC for the Southern Railway Depot for $3 million.

Mortgage activity resulted in 364 loans totaling $97.89 million. $30.7 million of that amount was a loan from Central Bank & Trust Co. to Ball Homes for the development of the lots in Waterstone at Hardin Valley. The second-largest loan was from Ameris Bank to UTK Kerns Student Housing LLC in the amount of $20 million for development of the property behind the old Kerns Bakery on Chapman Highway.

With all the new development going on, it’s no wonder people want to move to Knox County!
