Maggie chooses Ozark over Knoxville

Maggie ready for eclipse

Maggie Lamb and her family weren’t satisfied with our local 88.6% potential viewing of the eclipse, and headed to Ozark, Illinois, which promised a 100% totality view.

The family enjoyed  the 2017 partial eclipse at Camp John Knox in Kingston, Tennessee, so much they wanted to find a similar experience for this one. Ozark’s Camp Ondessonk offered crafts, archery, hiking trails and a climbing wall for the full experience prior to the viewing of the eclipse which mom, April, caught on video.

Maggie will remember this unique trip to Camp Ondessonk as she will the special time spent with her grandmother, Connie.

However, the parents said they may remember the traffic snafu even more than the eclipse. They left at 2:40 after the eclipse and made it back home around 7:45 p.m. What took two hours going up took more than five coming back. The storm that wearied our eclipse viewing here evidently moved north and pushed them to make a stop off the interstate.
