Knox County Mayor Glenn Jacobs and County Commissioner Carson Dailey will join area seniors for a little “Raising Kane” from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Thursday, May 30, at the South Knoxville Senior Center, 6729 Martel Lane. Jacobs, known as Kane in his professional wrestling days, will attend at noon.

Dailey says the center’s “Hillbilly Mania Open House” will include bluegrass music, fried chicken (sponsored by WoodmenLife), cake, drinks and plenty of covered-dish delights. Some 14 vendors are scheduled to be on site to hand out goodies. “Come see what the center has to offer seniors age 50 and older,” says Dailey.
