Sharon and R. Larry Smith of Halls welcomed Kim Caldwell, coach of the Lady Vols basketball team, to Knoxville.
“She has a proven record,” said Larry, “but what remains to be seen is whether she can keep her current players and recruit in the SEC.”
Caldwell is full of energy and that should translate to the players. “We can’t wait to see her up-tempo style of basketball. We welcome her to the Lady Vols Nation and wish her the best.”
Larry Smith, a former Knox County commissioner, maintains a personal collection of men’s basketball memorabilia at his insurance office. Sharon Smith is active with the Halls Crossroads Women’s League and serves on the advisory board for the Knox County Public Library.
