This Thursday, October 20, at 4:30, everyone is invited to the ribbon cutting on the latest Storybook Trail being installed in the Collier Preserve next to the Powell Library.

The trail features “Old Rock (is not boring)” by Dep Pilutti. It is the tale of a surprisingly adventurous rock that has seen more action over the years than the quick-moving animals surrounding it.

There will be food trucks and rock painting, and an opportunity to explore the 12-acre bird sanctuary that includes an ADA walkway, nature path, native plants garden, arboretum, birding platform, a kayak rest stop on Beaver Creek and a tranquil natural setting for observing wildlife.

Legacy Parks Foundation developed the Collier Preserve on land donated by Dr. Bob and Louise Collier.
