Halls High School graduates will remember Suzanne Jack as an inspiring art teacher and professional artist. She is retired from teaching now, but her art is winning regional and national awards including Best of Show and the Pivot Point Gallery Award in the Tennessee Artists Association 2022 Art Exhibition.

Suzanne Jack

She was chosen as the guest artist for the Pivot Point Gallery, 15 Emory Place, Knoxville, with the show running through Jan. 9, 2023. The opening reception is Thursday, Oct. 20, 5-7 p.m. and I’m guessing Jack would be proud to see some friends from Halls at the event.

Her artwork “Water Gems” won a first-place national award by The Pastel Journal and was published in its spring edition. The pastel painting is also featured in Art Journey: Abstract Art: A Celebration of Contemporary Art, 2017, edited by Jamie Merkle. “Water Gems” was purchased by the Hyatt Place Farragut Hotel and is displayed in its boardroom in Knoxville.

She will be published in the Stroke of Genius 14 drawing competition in The Best of Drawing presented by the editors of Artists Magazine.

Her original art is available for sale at her online gallery.

Sandra Clark is editor/CEO of Knox TN Today Inc.
