Christian Academy of Knoxville (CAK) has added Andrew Osakue as part-time spiritual life director at the campus’ high school.

Osakue is a native of New Orleans, where he started his first ministry from his very own patio. He relocated to Memphis in 2005 following Hurricane Katrina. Since then, Osakue has led and served several outreach ministries, some of which include: homeless shelters, youth ministry, nursing homes, prisons and community ministry. His personal motto is “if it’s not about souls, it’s not about much.”

Osakue combines his position at CAK with his role at First Baptist Concord as its pastor of connection and engagement. He enjoys learning, traveling, empowering others and hugging as many people as possible. Most of all, he enjoys spending time with his wife, Ashley, and their daughter, Autumn Elise, who was born on March 14, 2017.

“My goal is to see lightbulbs go off in our students and faculty, and to hold five-star conversations centered around Jesus and loving each other well,” said Osakue. “When we love out loud and in a genuine way, Heaven rejoices and true discipleship is realized.”

“To say I am extremely excited to have Andrew on campus would be a huge understatement,” said Head of School Bob Neu. “One only needs to spend a few moments with Andrew to know how deeply passionate he is about His Lord. He exudes the love of Jesus and his spirit is contagious. Andrew loves and cares for others well because he understands the love Jesus has for him. What an asset he is to our campus!”
