The Hardin Valley and Melton Hill communities are getting new playgrounds with a promised opening by summer 2024, according to District 6 county commissioner Terry Hill.
The ground-breaking ceremony for both playgrounds occurred Wednesday, November 1, 2023, at the Hickory Creek Road location. Commissioner Hill said, “This has been a three-year push for me as your District 6 commissioner, and I am so glad to have your at-large commissioner Kim Ingram Frazier join me to make this happen.”
The new playground will totally replace the existing playground at Melton Hill Park.
The 2024 Hardin Valley Community Park is phase one of two phases with the second development to include a community center, covered pavilion and walking trail with an anticipated completion date in 2025.
