Mardi Growl returns March 2

Susan EspirituOur Town Neighbors

The 17th annual Mardi Growl returns on Saturday, March 2, beginning with a parade at 11 a.m. To participate in the parade, register your pet here for $15 or on the day of the parade for $20.

Every year, this favorite pet parade brings out a pageant of costumed pets raising money for the Young Williams Animal Center, helping make sure it’s able to care for thousands of animals every year.

This year, the pets will march beginning in Old City and traveling to World’s Fair Park. There, people will be able to find around 100 vendors along with live music, games and all kinds of fun for people and pets alike.

People and pets will be able to compete in costume contests, rewarding people for their creativity and ingenuity. Pets need to be on a leash during Mardi Growl.

The center’s spay shuttle will be at the festival, giving pet owners a chance to get microchips and rabies vaccines for their dogs for $10. People can book an appointment at the shuttle online.
