Marble City Opera announced via press release the U.S. premiere of “City of Ashes” on Sept. 12 and 13 at The Episcopal Church of the Ascension. Performances of the one-act opera begin at 8 p.m. on both dates.
The production is set in Berlin in the last days of World War II. Two women struggle to survive while dealing with their personal guilt and the fearful atrocities committed by occupying Russian forces.
The opera stars soprano April Martin, bass-baritone Brent Hetherington and Aubrey Odle.
