Hallsdale-Powell Utility District received gold awards for both waste water treatment plants from the National Association of Clean Water Agencies.
Officials congratulated the employees for their work to “make sure wastewater is cleaned and returned safely back to our waterways.”
A gold award means no safety violations within the year.
HPUD operates the major wastewater treatment plant on Beaver Creek Road and a smaller treatment plant on Raccoon Valley Road.
