This week at the library: Rediscovering Fort Sanders: A Screening
Sunday, April 24, 2-4 p.m.
East Tennessee History Center

Knoxville saw its share of combat during the American Civil War, most notably in Fort Sanders. Through years of development, it’s difficult to know exactly where the battlefields were. Charles and Terry Faulkner tramped all over the neighborhood in their quest to discover the precise location of this iconic Civil War battle site. Their efforts were documented on video by Bill and Melissa Sykes. In partnership with the Calvin M. McClung Historical Collection and with financial support from The Friends of the Library, the resulting documentary will be screened for the first time followed by a conversation with the Faulkners. The event is free and open to the public. Pre-register at 865-215-8729.

The Wall that Heals – companion reading list
