The Oak Ridge High School baseball team is having a strong postseason run and is very much in contention for the TSSAA state tournament.

Oak Ridge won the Region 2-4A championship by defeating Farragut 8-4 and improved to 31-9-1 on the season.

The Wildcats are now in the Class 4A sectional round — the final step before the state tournament — and are scheduled to host Dobyns-Bennett in a best-of-three sectional series beginning today, May 13.

Recent postseason results for Oak Ridge include:

  • Defeated Knoxville Central 9-4 in region play
  • Beat Farragut twice during the postseason stretch
  • Captured the Region 2-4A title at Farragut High School

If Oak Ridge wins its sectional series against Dobyns-Bennett, the Wildcats will advance to the TSSAA Class 4A state tournament in Murfreesboro May 19–22.
