Hattie Halter brought cookies and her Troop 20717 to show how Girl Scouts learn empathy, leadership, and responsibility by giving back to people, such as the residents of our assisted living communities.
Hattie and friends recently delivered 100 boxes of the famed Girl Scout Cookies to the residents of The Pointe at Lifespring.
Cookie donations through Girl Scouts of Southern Appalachians do more than share treats—they build character and strengthen communities. It builds compassion and helps them understand how even small acts of kindness can make a difference in someone’s day.
Girls aren’t just handing over boxes—they’re making decisions, setting goals, and organizing efforts. Donation programs help them practice the core pillars of the Girl Scout Leadership Experience.

Cookie donations turn a simple fundraiser into a powerful lesson in generosity, leadership, and community impact—helping girls grow while making others feel valued and supported.
