The Fountain City Lions Club awarded a $1,000 scholarship to Central High School senior Christian Cox at Central’s Awards night. Christian and his mom, Stacey, recently attended the club’s luncheon where the members again recognized Christian’s accomplishments. Christian is the 2023 valedictorian of Central High School, is active on an extracurricular rowing team, played and marched in the Central High School marching band without any prior musical training, and plans to major in physics at UT Knoxville. Tom King wrote an article last month on Christian’s many accomplishments and it includes his one-of-a-kind valedictory address to his classmates from a truly one-of-a-kind young man.
