For those about to rock … it’s almost First Friday

Friday, March 4: The weather is looking picture perfect tomorrow for First Friday. Come celebrate local artists and enjoy new exhibitions, artist demos and live music at the Emporium Center downtown at 100 S. Gay Street from 5-9 p.m.

Enjoy the new exhibits at the Emporium, including “Patron Saints of Rock” from local artist Robert Felker. Felker paints landscapes en plein air and in studio as well as public art, having painted the Cormac McCarthy Firefly Mural on Clinch Avenue, the Bijou Theatre’s 111th Anniversary Commemorative Mural and “East Tennessee Sunrise,” a mural collaboration with R.B. Morris, inspired by the poetry of President Jimmy Carter and located at the Knoxville Habitat for Humanity headquarters.

Other First Friday happenings are detailed here, including exhibitions, music, performances, culinary arts, public art and more. Be on the lookout for the ArtWalk flags outside of participating downtown First Friday venues.
