Last week, the Fountain City Business & Professional Association awarded three special recognitions to Central High School seniors.

Bryson McKinley received the Career & Technical Scholarship from the Fountain City BPA. Bryson wrote that his goal to work on cars had started at a very early age. Additionally, sharing his interest in cars with his father and older brother caused him to choose the automotive pathway at Central. After a recent welding course, he discovered he has a special skill in welding. Consequently, he is thinking that he may first major in welding at TCAT and then pursue auto mechanics secondly.

Torin McAfee was named Male Athlete of the Year. Charlie Pratt introduced Torin as a person who truly represents what it means to be a complete student-athlete. As a three-sport athlete representing Central on the football, basketball, and track teams, Torin demonstrated exceptional dedication, leadership, and competitiveness throughout the school year. Beyond his athletic accomplishments, Torin’s work ethic, character, and commitment to his teammates have made a lasting impact.

Avery Brewer has distinguished herself as an exceptional student-athlete and a true representative of the pride and tradition of Lady Bobcat athletics. On the basketball court, Avery leaves behind one of the greatest careers in school history, ranking 4th all-time in points scored with 1,460 in her career. Her dedication and leadership extended beyond athletics, as she maintained a 4.1 GPA and consistently served her school, teammates, and community.
