Wildflower reports – 24 July 2023

Little River Trail (B to Cucumber Gap Trail)
Daisy Fleabane – Few – Past peak bloom.
Doll’s Eyes – Few – (Berries – flowers appear in the spring).
Heal All – Many – Mostly at peak bloom.
Joe Pye Weed – Few – Just starting to bloom (mostly budded).
Pale Jewelweed – Few – Appear to be at peak bloom.
Rosebay Rhododendron – Few – Mostly past peak bloom.
Saint John’s Wort – Few
Tick Trefoil – Few – Past peak bloom.
Wood Nettle – Some – Mostly past peak bloom.

Cucumber Gap Trail (B-E)
Black Cohosh – Few – Past peak bloom (one at peak bloom).
Crimson Bee Balm – Few – Mostly past peak bloom but a few at peak bloom.
Doll’s Eyes – Some – Berries (not the bloom which comes in the spring).
Heal All – Some – Mostly at peak bloom.
Rosebay Rhododendron – Few – Past peak bloom.
Saint John’s Wort – Few
Tall Bellflower – Few – Past peak bloom.
Wood Nettle – Some – Mostly past peak bloom.

Jake’s Creek Trail (B to Cucumber Gap Trail)
Asiatic Dayflower – Few – At peak bloom.
Daisy Fleabane – Few – Well past their peak bloom.
Pale Jewelweed – Some – At peak bloom.
Rosebay Rhododendron – Few – Past peak bloom (about gone).
Tall Bellflower – Few – Past peak bloom.
Wood Nettle – Some – Past peak bloom.

Note: I did not find the Turk Cap Lilies where I usually see them. A lot of dead trees have been cut down and possibly they were hiding these flowers.
