Knox the Fox discovered the new Aspire Park in Clinton with Kris Light a few weeks ago, and the Dining Duo visited its Pearl Restaurant, opened in September.

A picturesque view of the beautiful landscape from the floor to ceiling windows surrounding the entire dining area was almost a distraction from the meal, except the food was delicious. The dining area has multiple seating areas to choose from between booths, tables with padded chair seats, and deck seating as well.

The menu is not extensive yet as the staff is adjusting but the offerings were varied from several appetizers to handhelds including chicken, burger, and pimento cheese. It does include several soups, salads, tacos, and flatbreads.

We chose to start with the spinach-artichoke dip served with pita chips and we both agreed it was the best we have ever tasted, worth the trip alone.

One of us chose the chicken handheld with sweet potato fries. Again, the fries were the best and the chicken was tender. The other of the duo chose one of the two bowls offered on the menu: braised beef short rib bowl. Nothing left and described as tender and delicious.

After finishing the meal, a drive through the $30 million park is a must to see the incredible vision of the donors, Joseph Hollingsworth Jr. and Brenda Starwalt.

The Pearl is open daily 11 a.m.-10 p.m. except Friday and Saturday is open until 11 p.m.

The Dining Duo is looking for the “hidden gem eateries “where the locals fill the breakfast and lunch hour; those local haunts tucked into the out of way or right on the way places missed in the hustle and bustle of the day. Email us your recommendations at email here.
