Crumbl Cookies arrives in Turkey Creek

West Knox County is about to discover the cookies that have customers lined up on the sidewalk in Powell.

Crumbl Cookies will open Friday, Nov. 18, 2022, at 11055 Parkside Dr. in Turkey Creek.

The local franchise is owned by a father/son duo, Chattanooga restauranteur Tom Getz and his son, Grant. The store is open from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m. on weekdays and 8 a.m. until midnight Fridays and Saturdays. The store is closed on Sundays.

The Powell store is designed to create maximum space behind the counter, enabling just two to three customers at a time upfront. A friendly cookie associate stands by the door, chatting with customers and announcing the flavors of the week. Drivers-by wonder what the lineup is for. It’s a remarkable concept for getting attention without spending a dime.

The company is designed for high volume and speed. There is no in-store seating. Most orders are placed via an app which keeps count of your cookie cravings and awards “loyalty crumbs” for frequent shoppers.

The windows are covered at the new Turkey Creek store, so we’ll all see the layout on Nov. 18.

Only in-person orders will be taken during the first five days, but starting Wedneday, Nov. 23, services such as delivery, curbside pickup, catering and nationwide shipping will be available via the Crumbl App and online at Crumbl.com.

Crumbl was founded in 2017 in Logan, Utah, by Jason McGowan and Sawyer Hemsley. In just five years, Crumbl has grown from a humble cookie shop to a booming franchise with over 500 locations in 40+ states. Its rotating menu offers new flavors every week while regularly bringing back crowd favorites and unique original recipes. Flavors include Milk Chocolate Chip (a constant in Powell), plus rotating flavors like Cornbread, Cookies & Cream, S’mores, Key Lime Pie, Peppermint Bark, Caramel Popcorn, Buttermilk Pancake, Galaxy Brownie and many more.

Do I like this concept? Yes. The marketing plan is beaten only by the cookies themselves – which could have you, too, lining up on the sidewalk.
