Acrophylla alta, a new species of giant stick bug, has been discovered in the high-altitude rainforests of North Queensland, Australia. It’s believed to be the heaviest insect in Australia, weighing slightly less than a golf ball and measuring approximately 15.75 inches long.
The discovery was made by a team of Australian scientists, including a researcher from James Cook University.
