Susan Cole Sweetser, president of the Appalachian Arts Craft Center, passed away May 21, 2022, with her husband, Allen Sweetser, by her side. Susan and Allen were leaders of the Wildflower Pilgrimage for 24 years and promoted native plants. A graduate of the University of Tennessee and Catholic High School in Knoxville, Susan retired after 40 years working in social services for the state of Tennessee.
Services will be held on Tuesday, May 31, at noon, central time, at Larkspur Conservation at Taylor Hollow, 155 Bear Carr Rd., W. Moreland, Tennessee. This natural burial will involve a one-mile roundtrip hike to a wooded site surrounded by meadows and wildflowers. Parking is limited, and guests are encouraged to carpool. Details here.
