The Appalachian Mountain Bike Club has purchased 2.9 acres to add to Knoxville’s Urban Wilderness. The property neighbors existing Knox County park space, and the popular South Loop Route (Lost Chromosome Trail) bisects the two parcels being purchased. (See map above)
Matthew Kellogg, AMBC executive director, said on November 14, 2024, “We’ve closed – and are in the process of donating (the land) to Knox County Parks.”
Meanwhile, photographer Justin Fee has posted an exciting reel from the 15th annual AMBC Fall Festival. Fee says: “I am so fortunate this mtn bike park is in my backyard and I am a mtn biker since attending UT in 1990; woo-hoo;-) See his work here. (And don’t forget to turn on the sound.)
