  • Cherokee Trail Road – a short section between Medical Center Way and Edington Road – will be closed by KUB crews from 9 p.m.-6 a.m., starting Monday, June 12, through Friday, June 30. All lanes will reopen to traffic outside of listed work hours.
  • Michael Blum, adjunct professor at the University of South Carolina Upstate, will speak about “The Civil Rights Movement in Knoxville” at noon Wednesday, June 14, in a Brown Bag Lecture at East Tennessee History Center.
  • Ten Mile Creek Greenway mural unveiling is 10 a.m. Wednesday, June 14, at the tunnel under N. Gallaher View Road. Park at intersection of N. Gallaher View and Broome roads.
  • Ed & Bob’s Night Out is set for Pup’s Pit BBQ, 8534 Asheville Highway near Four Way In 5-7 p.m. Wednesday, June 21. Commissioners Ed Brantley and Bob Thomas will be available to talk with residents about county issues.
  • Dispose of old medicine from 9 a.m.-1 p.m. Saturday, June 17, at West Town Mall’s parking lot. Members of the East TN Regional Medication Collection Coalition will collect and properly dispose of the unwanted meds.
  • Business Breakfast by city officials is 7:30-11:30 a.m. Wednesday, June 14, at the Civic Coliseum. The free event will help business owners and managers better understand and compete in bidding for city contracts. Register at www.knoxvilletn.gov/businessbreakfast.
