Vicki Worley, owner/director at Hope Springs Adult Day Care Center, has been certified by Evergreen as a dementia care specialist. Achieving a certification shows dedication not only to a particular industry but also to learning and self-improvement.
“I’m so happy that Hope Springs Adult Day Care Center invests in providing staff with educational opportunities to help us best serve our participants,” Worley said.
Worley was a physical therapist at an area nursing home when she and husband Mike, also a physical therapist, bought and renovated a facility at 4036 Gap Road in northwest Knoxville.
“We were seeing patients who just didn’t need to be (in a nursing home). Maybe they needed PT treatment, but they were kept in the nursing home because they lacked a caregiver during the day,” she said. “Our goal is to keep people in their home, in their community and not in an institution.”
Hope Springs is licensed by the state Department of Human Services for up to 15 participants. Hours are 8 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. during every week day for adults ages 18 and older.
