The folks at Visit Knoxville have announced the return of the gold wings. The Gold Wing Road Riders Association plans its 40th annual convention “Wing Ding” Aug. 28-Sept. 1 at the Knoxville Convention Center.

This year’s event coincides with Honda’s release of the all-new, completely redesigned Gold Wing. With available demo rides as well as two presentations from Honda executives, the new bike is sure to be a featured attraction at this year’s event, said Kim Bumpas, president of Visit Knoxville.

“We are thrilled to be once again hosting the annual Wing Ding convention here. This will be the fifth GWRRA event in our city, and we look forward to creating new memories with motorcycle riders for the 40th year celebration.”

The presentations will be 2-3 p.m. Wednesday and 10-11 a.m. Friday in the Lecture Hall of the Knoxville Convention Center.

An indoor trade show has more than 200 exhibitors, seminars and entertainment events. A highlight will be the Law Tiger’s Bike Night in the Old City on Friday, Aug. 31. This event will feature a bike parade down Gay Street starting at 7 p.m. and ending in the Old City with a People’s Choice bike show, light show, food trucks, and a live broadcast from 93.1 WNOX.
