North Georgia boasts over 100 wineries, an ideal location due to the climate, terrain, and agrotourism. An Ellijay, Ga painting event recently had me visiting several – but with a discerning palette, not palate.
A morning outing took me to Buckley Winery, where I did not touch a drop (due to work and driving), but I enjoyed the lovely flowers, yellow umbrellas, and an old Chevy truck. It was a glorious day. Should there need to be a little cheese with the wine, the final flourish was a private concert by a local musician. Brian shared “easy picking tunes to paint by” and opened my ears to a tragic ballad, “Knoxville Girl”.
A fun time was had by us. I highly recommend a visit; it’s a great place to “Wine Down”.
