Weigel’s donation supports two service dogs

Sandra ClarkKnox Notes

Bill Weigel presented a check for $45,404 to Smoky Mountain Service Dogs in a November ceremony. The contributions from Weigel’s customers were enough to raise and train two service dogs. The dogs, named Sadie and Wiggles, are ready for placement with military veterans. Smoky Mountain Service Dogs celebrated a milestone with the opening of its new Veteran/Canine Training Center on Nov. 2. The new facility will provide additional space for increasing the number of dogs that can be trained to become available for veterans.

The Knox County Board of Health is scheduled to meet from 5-7 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 2, via Zoom. The meeting will be available to the public via Community Television (Comcast Channel 12), by Internet, YouTube or  livestream.
