Wall that Heals arrives April 21

The Wall that Heals is coming to Fountain City April 21-24 at Lynnhurst Cemetery. The exhibit features a three-quarter scale replica of the Vietnam Veterans Memorial in Washington, D.C.

The replica is 375 feet in length and stands 7.5 feet high at its tallest point. Visitors experience The Wall rising above them as they walk towards the apex, a key feature of the design of The Wall in D.C.

Opening Ceremony will be at 10 a.m. on Thursday, April 21.  The Wall That Heals will be open 24/7 until the Sunday, April 24, at 2 p.m. Lynnhurst Cemetery is located at 2300 Adair Drive.

Deadlines approaching for Small Grants workshops

Neighborhood groups wishing to apply for the Neighborhood Small Grants Program (NSGP) must send a representative to one of three mandatory pre-application workshops being held Saturday, April 23; Tuesday, April 26; or Wednesday, May 4.

Even if application this year is unlikely, sending someone to one of the workshops to learn how to apply in the future or ensure requirements are met to preserve right to apply in this 2023 round.

Pre-Application Workshop A          1:30 p.m. Saturday, April 23, at 3131 Morris Ave.

Pre-Application Workshop B          6 p.m. Tuesday, April 26, via Zoom

Pre-Application Workshop C          6 p.m. Wednesday, May 4, via Zoom

The NSGP is designed to strengthen Knoxville neighborhoods by supporting a wide range of community-based initiatives through grants and technical assistance.
