UT School of Art to hold art competition reception Thursday

Join the University of Tennessee School of Art on Thursday, January 25, 2024, 5-7 p.m. for the 77th annual Student Art Competition reception at 1715 Volunteer Boulevard, Knoxville.

Ewing Gallery visitors may park for free at Circle Park Drive near the Torchbearer Plaza. Stop at the Circle Park booth to receive a time-stamped permit. State that you will be visiting the Ewing Gallery to receive extended time. The Art + Architecture Building and Ewing Gallery are located one block southwest of Circle Park Drive.

Begun in 1947 by C. Kermit Ewing, founder of the University of Tennessee School of Art, the annual student exhibition has become one of the oldest competitions in the country and one of the highlights of the Ewing Gallery’s exhibition season. This competition has been an outlet for UT’s talented students for 77 years, wherein countless works of art of every form have been displayed and applauded by the university and Knoxville community.

This exhibition was juried by Stacey Robinson, associate professor of graphic design & design for responsible innovation at the University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign.
