UT Pep Rally is Friday at Hardin Valley Food City

Everyone is invited to the Food City UT Pep Rally 3-6 p.m. Friday, Aug. 30 at the Hardin Valley Food City, 11501 Hardin Valley Road.

Members of the UT dance/cheer teams, UT mascot, inflatables and refreshments will be there. This is a great event for the whole family. WIVK will be broadcasting live. UT themed giveaways will take place every 30 minutes throughout the event, with a grand-prize drawing at 5:50 p.m.

  • Friday, Sept. 6 – Vols vs. BYU game – Store #688, Halls, 7202 Maynardville Pike
  • Friday, Sept. 13 – Vols vs. Chattanooga game – Store #679, Powell, 7350 Clinton Highway
  • Friday, Oct. 4 – Vols vs. Georgia game – Store #682, Chapman Hwy.,7608 Mountain Grove Drive.

Flu vaccine: Food City will once again be providing the flu vaccine this immunization season.

“Food City’s immunizing pharmacists are certified to administer vaccinations in accordance with the standards set forth by the American Pharmacists Association and the corresponding state pharmacy associations, says Mickey Blazer, executive vice president of pharmacy operations.

Seasonal flu vaccine provides protection against the most common strains of influenza. Vaccinations are available on a walk-up basis at Food City immunizing pharmacies and will continue throughout flu season, based upon vaccine availability. U.S. Sen. Marsha Blackburn was the grand marshal for the Food City 300 on Aug. 16 at Bristol Motor Speedway. She delivered the starting command: “Drivers, start your engines.” Virginia state Sen. Bill Carrico waved the green flag.
