Someone (maybe me) from Legacy Parks will be at the Powell Business & Professional Association meeting at noon Tuesday, July 11, to provide new information on fundraising and construction of Angora Frog Farm. Lots of exciting support from the community.

Saturday, July 8

Big Clinch River Cleanup: 7:30 a.m., Museum of Appalachia in Norris. Free. Info: Clinch River Chapter of Trout Unlimited. Check-in begins at 7:30 a.m. with breakfast starting at 8, followed by a briefing on assignments and safety; the cleanup will end at 2 p.m. Anyone who enjoys spending time on the water, fishing or swimming is encouraged to come help clean it up. Details online.

Pokémon Hike: 10 a.m., Big Ridge State Park. Free. Info: Big Ridge State Park at 865-992-5523. Join Gavin as he combines the best of both worlds on a Pokémon Go hike. He’ll visit several gyms and learn about the significance of their locations. Download the Pokémon Go app and get ready catch them all. Register online.

Tuesday, July 11

Intermediate Group Road Ride: 8:30 a.m., Cycology Bicycles. Free. Info: Cycology Bicycles at 865-681-4183. Route and pace determined by the leader and group. Route length is 30-35 miles at a 15-17 MPH average pace with regrouping along the route. Limited to 10 cyclists. Register online.

Adaptive Kayaking: 9 a.m., The Cove at Concord Park. Info: Catalyst Sports Knoxville at 404-696-0933. This session for anyone with a physical disability and their close family and friends. Program includes all necessary equipment and instruction. Instructors trained in ACA Adaptive Paddling and can adapt kayaks with additional equipment to accommodate a variety of needs. Details online for both athlete and volunteers.

Wednesday, July 12

Cycling Cades Cove Loop: Sunrise to Sunset. Cades Cove. Info: Great Smoky Mountains National Park at 865-436-7318. Enjoy the 11-mile Cades Cove Loop Road on vehicle-free Wednesdays. Details and map online.
