Construction is underway for adjoining businesses, but the Food City store off Schaad Road at Grassy Creek is open, fully stocked and humming along. Store manager Tony Higginbotham has blended a team of newcomers and veterans from the Cumberland Estates store, which has closed.

The new store features Food City’s newest style café with tables, plush chairs a big-screen TV and easy access to both the store’s hot bar and the in-store Starbucks.

Don’t forget to kick in $1, $3 or $5 at the Food City checkout to benefit the Paralyzed Veterans of America, the nation’s only nonprofit organization dedicated solely to supporting veterans with spinal cord injuries, disorders and diseases. The campaign runs through July 27.

Low prices this week with everything you need for a great summer cookout – from ribeye steaks to chips and produce. Prices are good today and Saturday (July 23-24) while supplies last. Food City_7.23 Knox ROP
