Six new murals on display downtown

Six new murals were completed last week in downtown Knoxville by six local/regional artists as a part of the 2nd annual Mural Workshop at Maker Exchange hosted by Dogwood Arts and professional muralist Megan Lingerfelt.

Each artist designed and painted an 8 x 8-foot mural in the Curio at Maker that will remain on display through May 2024.

Participating Artists:

The Mural Workshop at Maker Exchange was designed by Megan Lingerfelt and Dogwood Arts to introduce mural painting practices to artists interested in taking their work to a larger scale. Participants receive hands-on experience from seasoned professionals and leave with the confidence to pursue large-scale mural opportunities on their own.

The Mural Workshop at Maker Exchange is part of a larger public art initiative led by Dogwood Arts called Art in Public Places. The Art in Public Places program brings art outside, adding character and beauty to our city streets and spaces. Dogwood Arts coordinates this ongoing program in collaboration with artists, property owners, the city of Knoxville and the Downtown Knoxville Alliance.
