Paul D. McGowan Sr. passed away on June 8, and services are planned for noon Wednesday, June 12, in the mausoleum chapel of Berry Highland Memorial Cemetery, 5315 Kingston Pike. Obituary information here.
Mr. McGowan retired as division freight agent for the L&N/CSX Railroad. He was a longtime commissioner of the West Knox Utility District and also served on the Metropolitan Planning Commission. He was a little league coach and a Boy Scout leader with Troop 50 in Earns, helping more than 20 scouts attain the rank of Eagle Scout. He is a former president and life member of the Knoxville Kiwanis Club.
