Funeral services are today (2/24) at Mynatt Funeral Home in Fountain City for Joe Edd Neubert, a prominent Knoxville business owner who died February 8, 2022, at age 86. The family will receive friends from 5-7 p.m., followed by a Celebration of Life service with the Rev. Chris Cupp officiating.
He founded the Joe Neubert Body Shop in 1979 and built the business on “honest service” and his good name. Today the business is still operating as Joe Neubert Collision Center on Clinton Highway.
After graduating from Central High School, Mr. Neubert served with the Knoxville Police Department. With another officer, he started the Blue Hawks division. He also worked as an insurance claims adjuster. He was shop manager for Howard Pontiac and Rice Olds before opening his own business.
He drove a race car #86, piloted a plane, and owned a house boat which he named “Really High Cotton.” The full obituary is here.
