Friends and family of Delores “Dee” Porter Walker of Alcoa will gather today (3/4/22) from 4-6 p.m. at Foothills Funeral Home, Maryville. Mrs. Walker passed away on February 25, 2022, at age 72.
The young Dee Porter was among the initial group of students that integrated Alcoa High School. She retired from TVA after 42 years of service, ending her tenure as head of drafting at Browns Ferry facility in Huntsville, Alabama.
Funeral services will be held at Bethel Baptist Church, Alcoa, at 2 p.m. Saturday, March 5. The body will lie in state from 1-2 p.m. at the church. Additional obituary information is here.
