Friends and family of Richard “Lee” Thomas, 71, will gather at 11 a.m. today (7/20) at Lakeshore Park Marble Hall (chapel) for a memorial service. Mr. Thomas passed away on July 14 after an extended illness.
He was the superintendent/CEO of Lakeshore Mental Health Facility in Knoxville for 22 years, serving the residents until the hospital was closed in 2012.
A Texas native, he is survived by his wife of 37 years, Shirley Hitchcox Thomas, his son, Tyler Hunt Thomas, and other relatives. Full obituary info here.
Mr. Thomas had an undergraduate degree from UT-Martin, and a master’s degree in business from UT-Nashville.
