Chili Cookoff: Community newcomers and anyone looking for a church fellowship are invited to a Chili Cookoff at noon Saturday, Oct. 15, at the Powell Lions Club building, 7145 Old Clinton Pike. “Come hang out. Missions team: Attend Lunch and Learn Sunday, Oct 23, at noon. For over a decade, Powell Church has taken a team to Guatemala. Team members provide food, clean water and a medical clinic and assist in light repairs. In partnership with Haitian Christian Ministries, the team helps provide a church and school in Haiti. Knoxville Chamber was at Grand Buffet to celebrate the opening on Sept. 12. Offering authentic Asian cuisine, the restaurant is located at 6612 Clinton Highway in Knoxville.
