Chili Cookoff: Community newcomers and anyone looking for a church fellowship are invited to a Chili Cookoff at noon Saturday, Oct. 15, at the Powell Lions Club building, 7145 Old Clinton Pike. “Come hang out. Bring a dish to share. Bring a friend.” Drinks will be provided. Info: [email protected]

Missions team: Attend Lunch and Learn Sunday, Oct 23, at noon. For over a decade, Powell Church has taken a team to Guatemala. Team members provide food, clean water and a medical clinic and assist in light repairs. In partnership with Haitian Christian Ministries, the team helps provide a church and school in Haiti. Powell Church, a United Methodist community, is seeking volunteers and vendors for Trunk or Treat 2022, to be held Sunday, Oct. 30, from 4-6 p.m. in the church parking lot at 323 W. Emory Road. Info: [email protected] or 865-938-2741.

Knoxville Chamber was at Grand Buffet to celebrate the opening on Sept. 12. Offering authentic Asian cuisine, the restaurant is located at 6612 Clinton Highway in Knoxville.
