Two birthday pups are turning their celebration into an afternoon of giving when Luna and Maple celebrate their fourth birthday at Wagbar Knox on Sunday, Oct. 11.
The Pink Pawty Fur a Cause Auction Fundraiser, organized with Knoxville Dog Moms Club friends, will run from noon-4 p.m. at Wagbar Knox, 3200 Kessler Road. The dog-friendly event will benefit both Humane Society, Tennessee Valley and Joy of Dawn.
Instead of bringing birthday gifts for Luna and Maple, guests are encouraged to bring food or supplies from the Humane Society’s wish list in recognition of Adopt a Shelter Dog Month.
Joy of Dawn, the event’s other beneficiary, provides financial assistance to breast cancer patients who lose income while undergoing treatment.
The afternoon will include an auction featuring donated items from area businesses, along with activities for people and their four-legged companions. Organizers also plan free nail trims, balloon dogs, doggie crafts, movies, pup-corn and pizza. Salty Paws food truck is scheduled to participate.
All dogs attending Wagbar must be spayed or neutered and up to date on required vaccinations.
The celebration has a personal centerpiece: Luna and Maple, the twin birthday dogs who will turn 4 surrounded by friends while helping two nonprofit organizations serving the Knoxville community.
When: Noon-4 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 11
Where: Wagbar Knox, 3200 Kessler Road, Knoxville
