Powell Food City got the UT football season underway Friday with a pre-game pep rally. UT cheerleaders, Smokey (both costumed and real) and a remote from WIVK Radio had the crowd hopping.

Store manager Donny Rector was pleased with the crowd size that had visitors parking over by Walgreens. Several vendors were providing treats, such as fans from Crickett, Mayfield ice cream and soft drinks. Kids enjoyed skills games such as corn hole and football toss.
The Food City smoker was fired up, producing pulled pork as well as smoked shoulders and butts. The smoker will be on site Saturday (Sept. 9) as well.
