A career in the emergency room might not seem like the obvious path to opening an aesthetics practice, but for Sarah Hitchcox, RN, it led to discovering an entirely different way to care for patients.
Now, Sarah Hitchcox Aesthetics has a new Farragut location at 11121 Kingston Pike, Suite E.
Hitchcox said she never entered nursing school expecting to work in aesthetics. After experiencing the burnout that can accompany emergency room nursing, she took a course on neuromodulators and basic dermal fillers and discovered an unexpected interest.
“Aesthetics allows me to combine medicine with artistry, and that is what inspired me to start Sarah Hitchcox Aesthetics,” Hitchcox said.
That medical background remains central to her approach. Hitchcox said she wants patients to receive more than a quick treatment. Consultations focus on listening to patients, discussing their concerns and options, and developing individualized treatment plans.
The practice later expanded into medical weight management. Hitchcox, an avid runner with an interest in fitness and nutrition, said she views medication as only one part of weight management.
She works with patients on sustainable habits, nutrition, movement and realistic goals that can become part of everyday life.
“Seeing my patients succeed is the most rewarding part of what I do,” Hitchcox said.
The Farragut practice also includes Botox Knox Med Spa and Knoxville Weight Loss Clinic, subsidiaries of Sarah Hitchcox Aesthetics.
For Hitchcox, however, the new location is less about expanding a business footprint and more about continuing the type of individualized care that led her from emergency nursing into a new chapter of her career.
