Florence Ndiaye has been appointed ombudsman for Knox County Schools, effective August 2021. Ndiaye joined KCS in 2013 as a family resource center coordinator at Whittle Springs Middle School.

She previously worked at the Tennessee School for the Deaf, serving as a teacher and supervisor. In 2019, she began working as a Knox County Schools hearing specialist, a position she currently holds.

Ndiaye holds a bachelor’s degree in communication disorders from Winthrop University in South Carolina and a master’s degree in deaf education at the University of Tennessee.

Ndiaye replaces Tammi Campbell, the system’s ombudsman since 2017, who was appointed principal at Austin-East Magnet High School earlier this year.
