Let the voters decide

Sandra ClarkGossip and Lies

Dear Readers: It’s come to my attention that a random blogger has criticized Monday’s column exposing efforts by Scott Golden and the state Republican Executive Committee to determine bona fide Republicans and to exclude others from the party’s primary ballot.

Two definitions.

Subtlety: acuteness or penetration of mind; delicacy of discrimination; a fine-drawn distinction; refinement of reasoning.

Sarcasm: mocking contemptuous or ironic language intended to convey scorn or insult.

For those who lack the ability to detect either or both, let’s be clear:

I condemn the notion that a single man or small committee should decide who is a “bona fide Republican.” Put the folks who want to run on the ballot and let the voters sort them out. It’s called AN ELECTION.
