“The Old Karns lost another legend,” one friend of Ed Butler wrote in the tribute section of his obituary. “Great man, hard worker, who I always looked up to. Always had a story to tell and knew so much of what was happening in Karns. Rest easy my farmer friend, the Gordons will miss your laugh and smile.”
Edward Butler passed away July 7, 2023, at age 87. He was a lifetime member of Beaver Ridge United Methodist Church and a lifetime dairy farmer. Ed was a founding member of Karns Volunteer Fire Department who enjoyed playing with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. His hobbies were antique tractors and attending flea markets.
Survivors include his wife of almost 65 years, Charlotte Butler, and sons Tom and Bob and their families. The full obituary is here.
The family will receive friends 5-7 p.m. today (07/10/23) at Weaver Funeral Home. Family and friends will meet at Edgewood Cemetery at 9:45 a.m. Tuesday for a 10 a.m. graveside service.
