Garden Sale in Historic Holston Hills is 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, May 22, at the intersection of Chilhowee Drive and Holston Hills Road. It features perennial and annual plants, native plants, hanging baskets, trees and garden treasures.
Washington Pike expansion plans are the topic as the city of Knoxville’s Office of Neighborhoods will host a meeting from 5-7 p.m. Wednesday, May 19, at the New Harvest Park community room. People may come at any time, said coordinator Debbie Sharp.
Food City plans a company-wide hiring event 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Wednesday, May 19, at all stores and the distribution center. Both full- and part-time jobs are available. The goal is to hire over 1,000 entry-level to skilled professionals such as meat cutter, cake decorator and retail management.
Powell Republican Club will meet at 7 p.m. Thursday, May 20, at Shoney’s Restaurant on Emory Road at I-75. This is the first meeting since the Covid shutdown.
