Halls Prayer Breakfast is Friday

Brent Hubbs of Volquest.com will speak to the annual Halls Prayer Breakfast at 7:30 a.m. Good Friday, April 19, at Beaver Dam Baptist Church. Tickets are $15 and may be purchased from Sue Walker (865-925-9200) or at the door.

Hubbs graduated from Gibbs High School in 1992 and the University of Tennessee in 1996. He began his broadcast career working with Mike Keith on Sports Talk in 1994, serving as a reporter and show producer until 1999. In January 2000, Hubbs started the subscription website Volquest.com. The site has grown from a staff of one to a staff of four full-time employees.

Hubbs won a national Edward R. Murrow Award in 1997 for coverage of Tennessee athletics and has twice been named Tennessee state sportswriter of the year.

He and wife Tracy Jesse Hubbs have two children: Eli, 14, and Madison, 11.
